My journey with woodworking started young, thanks to my grandpa, who had me working on small projects in his shop. For years, it remained just a hobby—something I did for home projects. That changed when my wife and I started a wedding rental business, where I began building tables, bars and backdrops.

Then, last year, I decided to take things further and launched Lost Woods Customs. I wanted to create a unique way to display Euro mounts, drawing inspiration from the inlay pattern work my grandpa used to do. That craftsmanship is at the heart of the plaques we make today.

I especially love working with barn wood—it comes with its own color and character, making each piece one of a kind. Plus, let’s be honest, painting and staining aren’t my favorite parts of the process!

Beyond the shop, I’m a husband to a beautiful, hardworking wife and a dad to two amazing boys. My wife owns and runs Patina Rental and Design, our wedding rental business, while also managing a houseful of boys—including our two hyper German Shorthaired Pointers. Somehow, she makes it all look easy! Meanwhile, our boys love getting their hands dirty in the shop when they aren’t busy with sports.

For larger plaques, we offer an upgrade to their SkulLok, which provides angle adjustment, side-to-side tilt adjustment, and the ability to properly display lopsided or broken-antlered elk.
